The Five:Nine Focus is named after Matthew 5:9. It is one of Jesus' Beatitudes - the one that emphasizes being the peacemaker.
I believe in ecumenical Christianity; that the one "holy, catholic and apostolic" faith is the Church and that denominations and individual congregations are merely small cells in the body. I have a home church, but even there I am not at peace.
As a result, I "ride the circuit" and visit various congregations of various denominations. I find that varying voices and experiences is a good thing. I prefer tradition to the modern, but I prefer a doctrine of justice and equality over one that emphasizes the ideals of social conservatism.
This blog, however, will not be limited to the religious. Peace can come and be granted in different ways. Just as God can be found through nature, peace too can be found through experience.
