St. Clare, of Assisi and a contemporary of St. Francis, established the Order of Poor Ladies. The Order sold their belongings and gave all they had to the poor. Today, a well-known sister of the Order is Mother Angelica (who established America's EWTN and who you from time to time hear leading the Rosary on TV).
Attributed to St. Clare:
Always be lovers of God,
and your souls,
and the souls of your sisters
and brothers
and always be eager to
observe what you have
promised to God.
May you always be with God
where ever you may be
and may God be with you
always.
